About This Game The stronghold of an ancient civilization has been invaded by hordes of alien raiders. Use powerful technologies of the Ancient and repel the attack of the enemy's armies! Features: - Classic Tower Defense (TD) for those who are fond of good old games; - Building towers in any free area on the field; - 40 unique levels; - Plenty of diverse enemies with their own features; - The game offers upgrading towers, as well as everything else. New improvements allow selecting exceptional strategies for each level. Even the base can be upgraded! - Improvements can be reset and distributed at will, it is free and you get all your emeralds back; - The storyline is based on recollections of the veterans of intergalactic wars; - Our artist visited the ancient planet himself in order to recreate its image in the game; - Character voices sound identical to real ones; - The game was developed upon the order of the High Council of the Intelligent Civilizations of the Galaxy; - There should have been one more feature here, but it failed censorship, so we replaced it with an advert: “Galactic energy drink “Improviser” with a rocket fuel extract will reduce fatigue and shorten your life by a couple of years. “Improviser” – for a vibrant and fast life!” We love strategies, we did our best to create the game, and it turned out quite decent. If you like it, do not forget to rate and leave a review; if you do not, you can blame us in comments, we accept any criticism. Graphically it's nice and it's very fluid but the rest...It's your typical tower defence game. You build, you kill. It starts already on hard and to lower you've to play it. This isn't bad, it's actually great, but you've to replay levels tons and tons of time to get enough currency to lower it. This doesn't bring the replay value to a higher position, it makes the game boring as hell since the game gives you the feel of a story being present since the first level and you want to know a bit more (it's simple but is there) but can't, the curve is high, you need to farm like a damn farmer. You've to go after your potatoes to smash them later and do mashed potatoes. In the end you simply say this after a while "Screw this, going to play something else" and you will do it.This probably isn't enough to kill the fun to a lot of people but... the game doesn't have ANY keyboard support. ANY AT ALL. When you have games in Kongregate made in flash and java from the same style and they support the space key to alternate between normal and fast forward that does magic in games like this... something seems wrong and incomplete.I also found this weird issue[i.imgur.com] in the map where you choose the level you want to play... This isn't a bug, it's lack of caring. You can't miss something like this, this is the options menu and it works in every other single place mid-game.Some of the translated languages also have a decent number of issues - poorly constructed phrases, typos. They're a bunch of them so I stopped caring about them but this will give you a very bad and poor experience.I wanted to enjoy this game because I like Tower Defence games and this game seemed good since it's still being updated here and there once in a while but in the end I ended disappointed because it looks a lot like a game made for smartphones with MTX in mind.. Yeah it's not bad this game, standard tower defense, but done well with the minimum of fuss.Worth the paltry sum they ask for it...but beware, if you've played Defense Grid you've already played this.. An enjoyable Tower Defense game with nice art assets. There is a bit of a grind element to it at times, and it lacks certain TD game features such as speeding up the interval of incomming waves and having to reactivate the existing speed up which does make everything faster apart from ability to call in the next wave for a bonus if you can handle it.There is also a lack of proper PC settings menu, which should be part of any game that is being released on a PC especially when ported from mobile or other platform. Some of the tower and weapon upgrades are a bit boring; e.g. 5% more damage on several consecutive upgrades.Having said all that it is still a decent TD game well worth a try if you are into Tower Defense games.. I enjoy Tower Defense games, though it is not a "favorite" genre of mine. That said, this is actually an enjoyable little game, if you don't mind that you will have to grind for gems to upgrade weapons, towers and your base, and want a TD game that isn't Medieval in setting. The more futuristic alien planet vibe is nice, Very nice art (quite pretty, actually), and good sounds that fit the weapons and invaders well. In particular the "oof oof oof" sounds as they are hit by weapons fire, and the sound they make as they die is amusing. The story, if you call it that, is a bit shallow, and the bits between rounds do seem to flash by quickly at times, but if they lasted any longer you might get tired of looking at them as the game loads the next scenario. Not a game I will ever put 10 hours/day into, but good fun for short sessions, and a breather from other games i play. The difficulty progression seems fair for now, but I am not terribly far into the game, so it may ramp up quite a bit later and catch me off-guard. We'll see. Being able to replay scenarios to grind for gems for upgrades is nice, you can pick a favorite map and replay it as much as you like, to get those gems. I'd say at the beginning it feels a bit more "casual" than many other TD games I have played, we'll see if it stays "casual" as i progress to the final maps. It has a good tutorial for new TD game players, though it is a tad annoying if you are more familiar with the genre. Quick note: you do NOT have to place towers, factories, mines, concrete blocks and such where the tutorial arrows tell you to put them, you can place them where you like on the green sections of the playing grid. Factories are the exception, they have specific spots they can be placed in, and you need to be careful placing them in areas where you can fit more than one, to leave space for the next and maybe the one after. Being able to disable the tutorial is a feature I wish the game had, but it is a minor annoyance to me, at most.TL;DR- fun little Tower Defense game, with a nice futuristic setting, that is worth a play if you like TD games, and don't mind grinding a bit. Worth full price? Sure. The per hour cost is not high, and I can see it going down as I try to progress and work toward that 100%. Yes, it has Trading Cards, which have little market value (means a fairly cheap badge if you are lucky enough to not get duplicate drops). On sale, grab it if you like a more "casual" TD game.. Nice little TD. The pacing of the levels are quite good but about 75% through the game you will find yourself forced to grind old maps for resources. The difficulty drastically climbs at the end to the point where it is impossible to play without first getting stronger. Other than that I found this game fun to play.. Title: Ancient PlanetGenre: Casual, Indie, StrategyDeveloper: Moonlight MousePublisher: MGA MEGAAPPS LIMITEDRelease Date: 3rd February, 2015TL;DR, VerdictFun tower defense game. Nice price, recommended if you don't mind grinding. At one point it will become really difficult that is the reason you will need to grind for upgrades. ProsSimple and well executedSatisfying to play and complete the missions/get achievementsEnough variation to keep you engagedConsDon't play with sound on if you're playing for a whileHave to do a lot of grinding to progress to end game content/get everythingGameplayA simplistic tower defense game where you focus on shooting stupid aliens as they follow a path with the various defenses you can build around it. You have to choose whether to gain resources or defenses, like Plants Versus Zombies, and without knowing anything about the game and where it originated from, it feels like the kind of game you would play on your IPad. The invading alien army (armies) have the kind of derpy humour you would hope to see in creatures that will totally bypass your defense despite the horrific casualties and insist on going down a single path to your base. It's entertaining and a nice little game for the casual gamer, with bite sized humour in-between the defense missions. If you like games such as Plants Versus Zombies, you'll like this.Once you have your defenses built up, you have the option to speed up the game as well, which is a nice feature for those who feel they've maxed out ... or want more of a challenge. You can upgrade weapons with the gems you collect after each mission.Once you've built your resource generators on specified areas of the map, the types of defenses you have are:Block walls which will be attacked. Green gem things that are slow but strong, and quite long ranged/have a good field of coverage. Turrets that go pew pew. Stronger turrets that go pew pew pew. Blue floaty ice balls that slow the enemies. Zappy pew pew things. Mines that go boom when they walk over them. After a bit you'll start picking and choosing the defenses you build with the resources you have and the type of enemies you face, and needing to destroy structures that inhibit building your own. It's really well done and ingenious for the simple mechanics it has, and as someone who enjoys this style of game, I like it. The sounds however can get a little annoying so you will likely find yourself muting the game and enjoying the visual impact better. I'm also not so sure about the grinding, I don't mind doing this, but I don't think I would want to play this game long enough to do some serious levelling. So for me, this game is not worth the amount of time put into it, but for those who like the dedication and result that comes from grinding, this is a nice pick for them.. Ancient Planet starts out fine enough as a fairly normal tower defense game with a star rating system for each level. Each level you complete gives you a reward of gems that you can use to upgrade your various towers and defenses.I quite enjoyed the gameplay on the first world and thought that I may even continue to play it through till completion. I thought this until I reached a part in the game were the enemies start regening health. I played through that level at least 10 times using various setups to try and complete it with even just one star. I was not able to do so. It quickly became apparent that the way you are meant to proceed is to grind the prior levels for gems to upgrade your towers so they can actually deal enough DPS to finish the level. This is something I didn’t really want to do so I stopped playing. If you don’t mind having to grind to complete this game then I’d say buy it, if not stay away.
